Question & Answer Session
Dr. Mike Daniel is a member of EdRockman IV LLC and a Respected Independent Mineral Processing Consultant, specializing in Comminution (Crushing and Grinding), with over 25 years industry experience. Following a career in Project Management and Mineral Resource Management with Anglo American Corporation and De Beers (DebTech) in South Africa, Dr. Daniel migrated to Australia in 2000 and completed a Masters (2002) and PhD (2007) degree at the University of Queensland. Mike established his own consulting business, CMD Consulting Pty Ltd in 2007.
The firm offers Specialized Consulting Services in the areas of Ore Characterization, Circuit Design and Eco-Comminution® (Energy Efficient Processing). Brisbane-based, Dr. Daniel has extensive experience in the Design and Application of High Pressure Grinding Rolls Technology(HPGR) and trade-off studies that compare circuits that incorporate HPGR technology to circuits with SAG/AG Mills. Dr. Daniel’s clients have included Anglo American, Xstrata/Glencore, Straits Resources, Vale, Ausenco, Cliffs, Vedanta, CBH Resources,
Boteti Mining and CITIC-HIC. In the past 18 months, Dr Daniel has under took, on behalf of CITIC-SMCC PT several design and optimization projects using IP which has been developed by Dr Stephen. Consulting company SMCC Pty LTD which was owned by Dr. Morrell was sold to the Chinese Mill Manufacturer CITIC-HIC to form a new independent company CITICSMCC Process Technology which provides consulting services to the broader minerals industry.
